     BIOGRAPHY
George served in the Army in World War II. He was in the boat
directly behind Robert Lewis Griffith during the landing on Omaha
Beach and was wounded when the boat was hit.

Florence Faye Tomlinson, 88, of Melbourne, Ark., died in a Batesville hospital Nov. 10, 2005. She was born on Nov. 13, 1916, in Anadarko, Okla., and was the daughter of Drew Fudge and Martha Griffith Fudge. She was married for 62 years to Waldon H. Tomlinson, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne, was a homemaker and an excellent cook.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Tomlinson and his wife, Virginia, of Derby, Kan.; one daughter, Treva J. Miller and her husband, Paul of Melbourne; one granddaughter, Debra Meisenheimer and her husband, Frank, of Kingman, Kan.; three grandsons, Rick Miller and his wife, Pat, of Nevada, Mo., Gene Miller and his wife, Pam, of Melbourne, Bobby G. Miller and wife, Amanda, also of Melbourne. She is also survived by three great-granddaughters, Martha Meisenheimer, Emily Meisenheimer and Rachel Miller, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, R.A. Fudge; and two sisters, Esther Nelson and Myrtle Winfree.

The funeral service was held Nov. 13 at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Bro. Rick Burke and Bro. Frank Shell officiating. Interment followed in Caney Springs Cemetery at Sage Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Melbourne. Online guestbook: www.rollerfunealhomes.com/ melbourne.

Pallbearers included Kirk Miller, James O. Miller, Jamie Edwards, Jerry Blankenship, Loren Seth Blankenship and Tate Lawrence.

Honorary pallbearers were John E. Miller, Fred Blankenship, Dean Floyd, Y.D. Whitehurst, Doyne Robertson and Rayburn Finley.

     Obituary - Moline Dispatch:
James H. Griffith, 60, of Alpha, died June 18, 2004, at his home.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, Moline. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Peterson-Wallin-Knox, Alpha, and one hour prior to the services at the church.

He was born June 12, 1944, in Trumann, Ark., to Cecil and Leatha Reed Griffith. He graduated from East Peoria High School. He married Deborah R. Harris March 8, 1969, in Davenport.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah; daughter, Erin, Alpha; sons, Daniel Griffith, Atlanta, Ga., Joseph and David Griffith, both of Alpha; in-laws, Lowell and Rose Harris, Alpha; brothers, Gerald Griffith, West Memphis, Ark., Thomas Griffith, Conyers, Ga., and Dwayne Griffith, Springdale, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents.
